Clayton Davis, Variety's Senior Awards Editor, began his journey with the Hollywood bible in September 2020. When not just predicting the upcoming awards ceremonies, he is one of the hosts of the Emmy winning "Variety Studio: Actors on Actors."
In addition, he also serves as one of the co-hosts of the award-winning "Variety Awards Circuit Podcast" and the video web series "The Take," for which he won the best anchor/host award at the L.A. Press Club's SoCal Journalism Awards in 2022. An award-winning journalist, he received the Excellence in Entertainment Journalism Award from NALIP in 2021, was twice named one of the Imagen Foundations’ Influential Latinos in Media in 2022-2023, a 2022 Telly Award for co-programming and executive producing the Critics Choices’ Celebration of Latino Cinema & Television, and a Webby Award in the General Video category for events and live streams as one of the hosts for the magazine’s Variety Power of Women 2022.
For over 15 years, he's been a renowned analyst, media, film and television critic, appearing in various publications and platforms. He's been a contributor to ABC's Live Oscars Pre-Show since 2020. An award-winning journalist, 2022's Imagen's Influential Latinos in Media, was a recipient of the Excellence in Entertainment Journalism Award by NALIP and won a Telly Award for co-programming the inaugural Celebration of Latino Cinema for the Critics Choice Association, where he serves on the board.
Davis is an active member of the Television Academy, BAFTA and several other industry groups and organizations, including founding the Latino Entertainment Journalists Association.
Born and raised in New York and New Jersey, he's based in Los Angeles and lives with his wife and two children. He's an avid supporter of Autism Awareness.
